Foxconn discussing expansion of U.S. operations, possibly worth $7B and 50k jobs
iPhone assembler Foxconn has confirmed that it is in preliminary discussions regarding expansion of its U.S. operations after a CNBC report showed a slide seemingly suggesting an investment of $7B and the creation of 50,000 new jobs within the USA.
The news report focused on Japanese company SoftBank pledging to invest $50B and create 50,000 jobs in the USA. However, a slide also showed a Foxconn logo on the right together with reference to an additional investment and extra jobs. The obvious inference is that the numbers on the right refer to Foxconn …

Apple details Single Sign-On app + provider support as feature goes live on iOS & tvOS
Apple’s new single sign-on feature is finally rolling out to all iOS and tvOS users after initially being introduced at WWDC in June and missing the September launch. Apple’s WWDC app gains new video filters, more 3D Touch actions, tvOS Dark Mode
The latest update to Apple’s WWDC app includes new features for iOS 10, tvOS 10, and watchOS 3. Apple’s developer conference app now works with Dark Mode on the Apple TV when running tvOS 10. The change should reflect whichever mode the Home screen is using which you can set with Siri or in the Settings app.
The WWDC app also supports more 3D Touch interactions for iPhone 6s and later, plus you can now use filters to find locally stored videos and videos you haven’t viewed yet.

tvOS 10.1 developer beta 5 is now available for Apple TV
Apple has released the fifth tvOS 10.1 developer beta for the fourth generation Apple TV. The upcoming software update so far has included Apple’s new single sign-on feature which lets you authenticate with your cable provider to unlock all compatible paid video apps. tvOS 10.1 will also include Apple’s new TV app when it launches this month.
