iPhone 8 design reportedly ‘bezel-less’ with 5-inch and 5.8-inch curved screens, AirPods production starting December
Following on from previous rumors of a major redesign for the next iPhone, Barclays supply chain analysts are weighing in on their predictions for iPhone 8. They claim that the 2017 iPhone will feature a bezel-less design with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus including 5-inch and 5.8-inch screens, respectively. This compares with the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch panels used in the iPhone 7.
The report also shines some light on the AirPods mystery, claiming that production of Apple’s truly-wireless earbuds will begin in December (via MacRumors, Yahoo Finance).

Instagram confirms live video functionality coming, but isn’t saying when
With live video streaming now a standard feature on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, it was only a matter of time before Instagram joined in. CEO Kevin Systrom has now told the Financial Times (via Engadget) that it will be adding live streaming to the app.
Live is really exciting for us. I think it can enhance what we’re doing. If I’m trying to strengthen relationships with someone I love, them streaming video to me live would be an amazing way to be closer to them.

Bailout plan for Japan Display may give Apple a fourth supplier for OLED iPhones
It had been thought that Apple would only have two suppliers to choose from when it came to its rumored switch to OLED displays for at least some iPhones next year: Samsung and LG. A third contender emerged in June, when it was reported that Sharp’s OLED panel business would be up-and-running by next year, and it now seems possible that Japan Display will also be in the running.

Spotify says fix on way for bug that can reduce SSD lifetimes by massive data writes
Spotify says that a fix is on the way for a bug that results in the Mac, Windows and Linux apps writing massive amounts of data to SSDs even when the app is simply sitting idle.
ArsTechnica highlighted the problem that appears to have existed for at least five months.
For almost five months—possibly longer—the Spotify music streaming app has been assaulting users’ storage devices with enough data to potentially take years off their expected lifespans. Reports of tens or in some cases hundreds of gigabytes being written in an hour aren’t uncommon, and occasionally the recorded amounts are measured in terabytes. The overload happens even when Spotify is idle and isn’t storing any songs locally …

AAPL and other tech stocks down on post-election fears of inflation, Trump policies
AAPL saw its share price fall more than three dollars yesterday, a drop of 2.79%, falling another 1.16% in after-market trading. Other tech firms suffered similar falls, including Microsoft down 2.44%, Google 2.9%, Amazon 3.82% and Twitter 3.79%. The Nasdaq as a whole fell 70 points, 1.62% down. That’s against a broader market rise after the election.
