Apple Music gains support for SoundCloud-like unofficial remixes thanks to Dubset partnership
Apple originally struck a deal with music rights company Dubset back in March, but now the company is officially putting that deal to use. Today, Apple Music started supporting single-track remixes, something that SoundCloud has long used to differentiate itself from other services, TechCrunch reports. Additionally, Spotify is also now supporting single-track remixes.

Feature Request: Apple Watch Activity rest days, tolerance levels, and an honor system
Really good fitness and health tracking is easily my number one reason for wearing my Apple Watch everyday (and upgrading to Series 2), and I really appreciate the new Activity Sharing features in watchOS 3 and iOS 10. Filling Activity rings and keeping a streak going is really effective motivation for me.
But breaking a streak or not quite filling an Activity ring can be equally uninspiring. It’s tempting to want to give up or take it less seriously, especially if you almost had it or the stream was broken by error. That happened to me this week, which prompted me to think about three things I’d love to see Apple’s Activity app gain: rest days, tolerance levels, and an honor system.

Hands-on with TwelveSouth’s ‘New Mac’ scented candle [Video]
I’ve long-admired the smell of new Apple hardware. I understand that not everyone gets it, but for those who do, it’s a distinct smell that can be instantly recognized.
I first encountered this smell upon purchasing my first ever Apple product – a mid-2000’s Mac mini – and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s not that I go around smelling Apple boxes, but the scent evokes fond memories of my first Mac experience.

How to use or enable/disable Parked Car alerts from Maps on iOS 10 for iPhone
There’s a new feature in the iOS 10 update with Maps called Parked Car. It automatically tells your iPhone where you left your car and sends you a notification. This may or may not be useful depending on your needs. Luckily the Parked Car notifications are easy to disable or re-enable if you know where to look, and you can even disable the alerts without losing the feature.

Gartner predicting iPhone sales decline through 2016, expecting growth in 2017
Tech research giant Gartner is forecasting that the year-on-year decline in iPhone sales will continue through the rest of 2016, but that Apple will return to growth next year.
Overall stats released by the company relate to the mobile phone market as a whole, where it expects total shipments to fall from 1.917B units in 2015 to 1.887B this year before a slow growth beginning in 2017. The company does, though, make specific reference to the role the iPhone will play …

Report: Apple to unify cloud services backend with new ‘Pie’ platform, will move all employees into one campus
Apple will unify its cloud service teams to improve product development and software quality, according to a new report by Bloomberg. Currently, employees that develop Internet services like Siri, Maps, iCloud, News and Apple Pay are housed in many different buildings mostly outside of the main Infinite Loop campus.
To improve collaboration and speed up product development, Apple will be moving all the relevant teams into the Infinite Loop buildings. This ultimately leads to a better services division, which is the leading source of revenue growth for the company. It is also unifying web products to run on a new backend, codenamed ‘Pie’ …
