Less than a week after the public release of iOS 10, popular iOS Twitter client Tweetbot has been updated with a handful of optimizations for Apple’s latest operating system. The update brings the app to version 4.5 and brings new iOS 10 features, as well as a handful of other changes.

One of the few gripes I have with 3D Touch is that it’s not explicitly clear when you can use it throughout iOS to bring up more options. With iOS 10, 3D Touch has gained even more functionality, yet people are still discovering functionality that has seemingly been there, in some form, since iOS 9.

Something I’ve found myself having to do a lot recently is export various documents and webpages as PDFs. My process has always been to export the document into GoodNotes 4 and then share it via email or another method. Earlier today, we shared a pair of durability tests performed with the new iPhone 7. These tests showed that Apple has improved the durability of the new device compared to the iPhone 6s. Now, EverythingApplePro has conducted a deep water test to see just how far the new iPhone 7 can be submerged in water before it bites the dust, while another video shows the device being dropped from a helicopter. As with most new iPhone models, there are bound to be a few launch day issues that emerge, most of which end up being minor in the grand scheme of things. Nevertheless, it’s still interesting to note the various annoyances. Seemingly overshadowed by the chaos of iPhone 7 launch week were a pair of articles that highlight an alleged “very toxic atmosphere” at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. An article from Mic pointed to a variety of instances of alleged sexism and inappropriate behavior.

Apple appears to have improved the durability of the iPhone 7 compared to the iPhone 6s, as highlighted by a new drop test video by EverythingApplePro. The iPhone 7 does very well in this specific test, sustaining ten foot face-down and side drops without cracking the screen. In contrast, the iPhone 6s was completely shattered at drops of five-feet. The iPhone 7’s rear sapphire cover glass (the camera bump) was damaged but the person could still take photos.

Apple makes no claims about drop or shatter performance of course; the waterproofness of the iPhone 7 has already been shown to be of a high-standard.

One of the changes with the iPhone 7 that has earned mixed reactions thus far is the new Home button. No longer is the iPhone’s Home button an actual button. Instead, a Taptic Engine beneath the display provides the allusion that you’re pressing the button, even though there is no physical part being moved.
