Most iPhone reviews are fairly predictable, because what’s not to like about a new iPhone? There will always be features people wished Apple had added that it didn’t, of course, but the new iPhone is always significantly better than the model it replaced. For the first time, that isn’t exclusively true.
The main issue, of course, is the one everyone’s been talking about for months: the loss of the headphone socket. Apple may have planned to leak that change a long way in advance; it may have made a good case for the change; and it may have done its best to make the transition as painless as possible by tackling both the pairing and battery-life barriers to wireless headphones through the new W1 chip in AirPods and Beats headphones – but it does remain a downside of the new phones, and one which reviewers discuss.

Apple Online Store hints at potential expanded BeatsX color options for holiday season
Alongside the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2, Apple at its event earlier this month quitely introduced a lineup of new Beats products. At the lower-end of the lineup were the BeatsX earphones, coming in at $149.95 with a launch this fall. Apple launches iMessage App Store with various iMessage apps, games, and sticker packs
Let the deluge begin… Not long after the Super Mario Run iMessage sticker pack was made available to iOS 10 users, Apple has unleashed the entire iMessage App Store. The iMessage App Store, which is available for iOS 10 users, features sticker packs from companies like Disney, Bandai Namco, Sanrio, and others.
In addition to the sticker packs, the iMessage App Store features full-fledged iMessage apps and games. Several of the apps that were demonstrated during the WWDC 2016 keynote are here, such as Square Cash, OpenTable, and JibJab.
The iMessage App Store is only available for iOS 10 beta users today, but if you’re not already on the beta, you’ll only need to wait one more day, as iOS 10 is scheduled to go live tomorrow.

Report: Twitter to stop counting usernames & media towards 140-character limit next week
Earlier this year, Twitter announced that it was planning to move away from the strict 140-character limit for tweets. While the overall idea would remain the same, things like media attachments and @ usernames would no longer count towards the limit. Now, The Verge reports that Twitter is set to rollout the change next week.

Apple faces class action lawsuit over iPhone Upgrade Program disaster with iPhone 7 launch
In the chaos of iPhone 7 preorder night last week, one widespread complaint was Apple’s apparent neglect of customers signed up with the company’s iPhone Upgrade Program. As Zac noted last week, one of the biggest problems with the plan is that customers must buy from Apple in-store, not from a third-party store like Best Buy or even online from Apple.
Now, Apple has been hit with a class action lawsuit because the issues surrounding the iPhone Upgrade Program. Filed in the U.S. District Court in Northern California, the lawsuit accuses Apple of prioritizing new customers over those who are part of the iPhone Upgrade Program.

Genius announces iOS 10 iMessage extension for quickly sending customizable ’Lyric Messages’
iOS 10 officially launches to the public tomorrow and one of the standout features of the update is an entirely new Messages app. In addition to interface tweaks, built-in GIF search, and new message sending effects, third-party apps can now build extensions for Messages. Black and Jet Black iPhone 7 models get first unboxing in the wild ahead of official launch [Gallery]
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus don’t even hit store shelves until this Friday, September 16th, but the first official unboxing in the wild are already popping up online early. Photos shared on social media in Asia show believable images from someone who claims to be an Apple dealer unboxing and holding the unreleased iPhone models in public.
