Apple again said to remove Home button with iPhone coming in 2017
Following a similar report from the WSJ earlier this summer, a new report from Bloomberg today briefly mentions that the iPhone introduced in 2017 will not feature the iconic Home button that has been present from the start. The Bloomberg piece focused more broadly on an iPhone for Japan with support for FeliCa payments.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is planning a new iPhone model for Japan that includes support for a technology called FeliCa. FeliCa, for those unfamiliar, is a tap-to-pay standard in Japan that allows users to pay for things like mass-transit rides with their mobile device.

Apple set to expand presence in Ireland as upcoming tax ruling looms
According to a new report from the Irish Independent, Apple is planning to expand its presence in Ireland by creating 1,000 new jobs in Cork. Specifically, Apple plans to create a four-story office building and a 752-space car lot at its European headquarters in Cork.

Rare Apple I ‘Celebration’ model fetches $815k in auction, falling short of $1m estimates
Earlier this summer, we reported on a “Celebration Edition” Apple I that would be going up for auction. Initial estimates pegged a value of over $1 million for the computer, but the auction today came to a close with a final selling price of $815,000. 10 percent of the proceeds from the Charitybuzz auction will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Apple issues iOS 9.3.5 software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Apple today released the iOS 9.3.5 software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The bug fix update follows the recent release of iOS 9.3.4, which closed a recent jailbreak hole, and iOS 9.3.3, which was tested for several weeks. iOS 9.3.5 could also be the last update to iOS 9 devices and the last iOS 9 update in general before iOS 10 is released this fall.
