Apple’s latest UK tax bill: £12.9M, the equivalent of just two hours of global sales
With a long-running EU investigation into the legality of Apple’s tax arrangements in Europe still showing no signs of reaching a conclusion, the size of last year’s UK tax bill isn’t likely to help its cause. Apple’s latest accounts show that it paid just £12.9M ($17M) in UK corporation tax despite making an estimated £2B ($2.6B) profit in the country.
As the Mail Online notes, this is the equivalent of just two hours’ profits on its global sales …

Handy unofficial mac app provides transcripts of all the WWDC session videos
If you weren’t lucky enough to attend this year’s WWDC, there were live-streams of all the session videos, and you can still watch these online. But for those who find written transcripts a more efficient way to catch up, or want to be able to search for specific terms, the unofficial WWDC Mac app now provides automatic transcripts of each session.

Apple once again joins in San Francisco Pride parade, gifts limited-edition Apple Watch band to employees
Apple is once again celebrating the LGBT Pride parade in San Francisco with employees (including Apple CEO Tim Cook) joining the march earlier today, showing support of human equality and diversity across ethnicities and sexual orientation.
For the first time, Apple is gifting limited edition Pride Apple Watch bands to employees who take party, with rainbow colored nylon strap and red lugs.

Latest round of leaked iPhone 7 photos show new (larger) cameras for both 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch models
The latest round of iPhone 7 images, via NowhereElse.fr, once again purportedly show new camera components for Apple’s upcoming flagship phone lineup.
Although the design is expected to largely resemble the iPhone 6s, rumors have shown redesigned antenna lines and new cameras are on the cards for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

I’ve been living with the new $349 Bose Quiet Comfort 35s for the past week and not only are they amazing, but I can honestly say they’ve changed my life.

App Store outage for some users preventing logins, downloads & app updates
Reports are coming in that a list of App Store and iTunes services are currently down for users. Those affected are prevented from logging into their accounts, downloading and updating apps, or streaming previously purchased content. Apple’s system status as of 05:33 PM EST doesn’t list any services as being out, but tweets directed at Apple’s official support account seem to indicate otherwise.

Apple’s use of differential privacy in iOS 10 to drive AI will be opt-in, limited to four use cases at launch
Apple is making many of its services smarter in iOS 10 and macOS Sierra through the use of differential privacy which enables artificial intelligence to become smarter while still balancing privacy. Given Apple’s strong position on protecting user privacy, Recode requested more details on how the company’s use of differential privacy would work. Apple so far has resisted collecting a lot of user data that could make Siri, iCloud, and other services smarter.

Apple monitor with integrated GPU still expected following discontinued Thunderbolt Display
Apple officially announced yesterday that its Thunderbolt Display is dead. The monitor was never updated to match the much thinner design of the current iMacs, it featured a MagSafe 1 connector and required a MagSafe 2 adapter, and its resolution was far inferior to Retina iMacs so it was no surprise to see it finally discontinued.
Apple typically replaces a discontinued product with a newer version, though, so yesterday’s move could be interpreted as a sign that the company is fully exiting the external display business. Not so fast, says one voice however…
