A new report out today on navigation app trends sheds some light on how far Google Maps could be ahead of Apple Maps and other services. Included are the top reasons why almost 70% of users are sticking with Google Maps.
AgileBits dismisses rumor Apple is buying 1Password

Is Apple buying 1Password? BGR thinks they might be, maybe! The source of this rumor is a headline from the site that includes “acquisition talks underway” in a story about Apple employees receiving 1Password memberships as a work perk.
I worked in Apple Retail in 2011 and had access to lots of similar perks so that alone doesn’t spell acquisition, but it is a nice benefit. The meat of the story is this bit:

One of the most significant design opportunities in recent history was announced with a simple blog post on Apple’s website. “Let me just say it: We want native third-party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February,” Steve Jobs wrote. On a quiet Thursday morning less than a year later, the App Store opened to iPhone users with a selection of just over 500 apps.
Snapchat now lets you browse and apply thousands of user-created selfie filters

Last year, Snapchat launched its Lens Studio app, that allows anyone to create custom AR filters, with a later update offering a series of selfie filters. Options include face paint, distortions, a custom baseball cap, and the addition of 2D and 3D objects.
