Apple Business Manager launches in U.S. ahead of global expansion with School Manager

After teasing a late spring launch for its new Business Manager platform for enterprise users, Apple announced the U.S. launch this week during a developer session at WWDC.
Apple Business Manager will then launch globally in 34 countries starting June 20, followed by an expansion to another 31 countries this summer alongside Apple School Manager. The Business Manager platform was previously in beta with a select group of partners since earlier this year.

CMV: Macs and iPads will remain separate product lines for many years yet

Speculation about the convergence of Macs and iPads has been around for a great many years, and got a new lease of life when we first heard reports of Apple working on some kind of cross-platform initiative.
When Apple this week confirmed plans to bring iOS apps to the Mac, it answered the question about whether it would merge iOS and macOS with a huge ‘No’ on the screen. Some have responded by suggesting that may be true now, but this is just the first step.
There may be some truth to that – but I do think Macs and iPads will remain separate product lines for many years to come …

AAPL stock falls as report claims 2018 iPhone orders down 20% compared to last year

Apple stock is taking a hit in pre-market off a report from Nikkei that Apple’s orders for new iPhones are down about 20% compared to last year.
The report claims that iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X orders topped 100 million. This year, orders for the new 5.8-inch iPhone X successor, 6.5-inch ‘iPhone X Plus’ and cheaper 6.1-inch LCD iPhone, are in the 80 million range according to this report.
