GoPro unveils new $199 HERO action camera w/ built-in touchscreen, waterproofing, no 4K

This morning, GoPro delivered on a promise to unveil updated hardware this year, unveiling its new $199 HERO. Priced at a more “accessible” MSRP, it’s designed to bring in more content creators and comes at just the right time for a company that’s desperately in need of growth. GoPro has had its share of ups and downs in recent months as it shuttered its Karma drone operation and has seen sales slip.

Our education specialist Bradley Chambers wrote a lengthy piece yesterday explaining the flaws in Apple’s iPad-centric education strategy. The whole piece is well worth a read, but he outlined three main barriers to the superficially attractive vision presented by Apple, even before you consider the purchase cost of the iPads themselves:
- Books are tied to Apple IDs, so schools would have to re-purchase textbooks annually
- Teachers simply don’t have time to create their own interactive books
- Apple’s apps don’t integrate with the established IT systems used by schools

New ‘Music Videos’ section appears in Apple Music ahead of iOS 11.3 release

One of the features that Apple touted with iOS 11.3 was updates to music videos in the Music app, but was absent from earlier seeds. It has now started appearing for Apple Music customers (requires $9.99/mo subscription). Navigate to the new section by switching to the ‘Browse’ tab and selecting ‘Music Videos’.
Apple now curates playlists of music videos to watch like ‘Today’s Video Hits’, as well as featuring the latest new music videos and spotlights on particular artists.
