M1 MacBook Pro photo editing test beats ‘beast’ of a desktop PC

An M1 MacBook Pro photo editing test found that the 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro running M1-optimized apps was faster than a ‘”beast” of a Windows desktop PC – despite the fact that the latter was specifically specced with photo editing in mind and had a massive 128 GB of RAM.

Professional photographer Andrew Hoyle said that he was “astonished” by the performance, and concludes that an M1 Mac is a safe bet for photographers looking to upgrade…

Apple 6G plans already under way, though rollout not expected until 2030

5G might still be at a rather early stage in terms of coverage, but that’s not stopping work on Apple’s 6G plans. The goal of 6G is to allow speeds up to 100 times faster than 5G, but that is simply a broad ambition at this stage, with much of the required technology still to be figured out.

iPad assembly could start in India as government offers incentives

Apple is reportedly in discussions about starting iPad assembly in India, alongside the iPhones it already makes there.

The Cupertino company had previously succeeded in lobbying the government for financial incentives for setting up and then boosting iPhone assembly in the country, and new incentives are now being offered for local assembly of tablets and laptops…

Apple announces upcoming Express Transit support for Clipper card on Apple Pay

Apple announced today in a new partnership with Clipper that the Clipper card will soon be supported in the Wallet app and Apple Pay. Users will soon be able to use the card on iPhone and Apple Watch across all the San Francisco Bay Area transit agencies with just a tap without authentication.
