Apple rebrands iTunes Movies with new @AppleTV account on Twitter

Following the launch of Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV, Apple has increased its Twitter presence with a new account dedicated to all things Apple TV. The shift sees the old @iTunesMovies account rebrand with a new @AppleTV handle, and the first new tweet from the account promotes the Apple TV app and Amazon Prime Video support. You can still find tweets from the original account deep in the timeline while the old handle is now protected so it can’t be reused outside of Apple.

Cook responds to China criticisms, says he believes in freedom and is optimistic about future change

Apple CEO Tim Cook has hit back at suggestions that Apple is failing to fulfil a moral obligation to fight for freedom of expression in China.

The company had come under repeated fire from local customers and human rights groups for bowing to pressure from the Chinese government to remove or restrict App Store content in the country.

Amazon Prime Video app rolling out to Apple TV App Store

As announced in the Amazon Prime Video iOS app release notes, the Apple TV Amazon Prime Video app is now rolling out. The release notes say users have to download a separate tvOS app, which apparently will work on the third-generation Apple TV as well.

At long last, Amazon’s Prime Video application will be available today for the tvOS-powered Apple TV, as expected based on hints from the App Store. Apple originally teased the release back at WWDC, but both companies had gone quiet on a specific launch date until now. Search ‘Amazon Prime Video’ in the Apple TV App Store to find it.
