macOS High Sierra security vulnerability discovered, here’s how to set root password for fix

A newly discovered macOS High Sierra flaw may be leaving your personal data at risk. Software Developer Lemi Orhan Ergin, reached out to Apple Support on Twitter to let them know of the vulnerability he discovered. In the attack, someone with physical access to a macOS machine, can access and change personal files on the system without needing any admin credentials. Users with haven’t disabled guest user account access, or changed their root passwords, are currently open to this attack. We’ve laid out instructions on how to protect yourself in the meantime until an official fix from Apple is released.

Report: Apple possibly leasing Chrysler’s former proving grounds to test autonomous cars

Rumors that Apple plans to develop and market a self-driving vehicle may have gone cold, but CEO Tim Cook has publicly acknowledged that the company is working on a ‘large project’ around autonomous systems.

The latest detail in the story comes via Jalopnik which reports that Apple may have leased Chrysler’s old proving grounds which could be used for testing autonomous cars.

Apple releases fifth iOS 11.2, macOS 10.13.2, and tvOS 11.2 betas

Apple has released the fifth beta version of iOS 11.2 beta for developers. tvOS 11.2 beta and macOS 10.13.2 beta 5 are also available for testing.

 iOS 11.2 will Apple Pay Cash support in addition to SiriKit for HomePod which was detailed at the end of October. AirPlay 2 was also previously available in beta versions but disappeared in the previous beta when the HomePod delay was announced.
