Apple/PrimeSense patent describes using hand gestures to control a Mac
Apple has today been granted a patent for using hand gestures to control a Mac. The inventors named in the patent are from PrimeSense, the company that developed Microsoft’s Kinect sensor, and which Apple acquired back in 2013.

Apple launches Apple Support YouTube channel featuring how-to tutorial videos for iPhone and iPad
Apple began a support Twitter account early in 2016, answering customer queries and tweeting out the occasional iOS tip. It has now expanded into a dedicated Apple Support YouTube channel.
The account features highly-produced tutorial videos explaining all sorts of iOS features from how to change your wallpaper to deleting your call history.

The one iPhone X app update I’ve been impatiently awaiting has finally arrived: Pokémon GO (yes, I still play). Version 1.53.2 includes optimization for the taller iPhone X display so the game is no squeezed between black bars at the top and bottom.
eGPU progress report: hands-on with the AMD RX Vega 64 + macOS High Sierra beta [Video]
When Apple announced that it would lend official support to eGPU setups via Thunderbolt 3, I was extremely happy with the news. It means adding more graphical power on demand to Thunderbolt 3-enabled Macs like the MacBook Pro.
That said, eGPU support is still being fleshed out in macOS High Sierra, and Apple has stated that the situation will be further addressed in the spring of 2018. In the meantime, progress has been made on the eGPU front, albeit slowly.
Just for the fun of it I decided to test the Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 inside of a Mantiz Venus external graphics box connected to a 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro. Although official driver support isn’t yet there, I can report that when running the latest macOS High Sierra 10.13.2, the RX Vega 64 does work to some degree.
