Twitter night mode officially rolling out to its desktop website
Earlier last month, Twitter began testing a night mode for its desktop website that matched its iOS app. The social network today announced that it is rolling out the darker theme to all users beginning today.
Here’s how the jet black iPhone’s ‘fine micro-abrasions’ look after almost a year
It’s almost time for the iPhone 8 (and/or iPhone Edition) which means it’s been nearly one year since the jet black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus shipped. When Apple introduced the glossy black finish, it warned customers that jet black is prone to ‘fine micro-abrasions’ and recommended using a case. I prefer using my iPhone caseless (and jet black is satisfyingly grippy) so I put Apple’s challenge to the test at the risk of losing any resale value.
Apple to help Ireland pick investment manager for EU back-tax funds amid appeal
Last month, Ireland said it would reluctantly collect €13 billion from Apple as part of an EU ruling after a long investigation into Apple’s tax affairs. Now with an appeal filed, the funds may sit for up to five years before a final ruling is determined, and Apple wants to be involved in choosing the investment manager.
Maine college honors Apple SVP Phil Schiller with coastal studies center
Tim Cook isn’t the only Apple executive supporting his college. Apple’s marketing chief Phil Schiller and his wife made a $10 million donation to Bowdoin College in Maine where their two sons attended, and in return the school is naming its coastal studies center in their honor.
Apple releases iOS 11 developer beta 10
It’s been just under a week since the last iOS 11 beta, and now Apple has released the tenth developer beta preview. iOS 11 brings new features like drag-and-drop and a redesigned multitasking interface for iPad, a new customizable Control Center, and much more.

T-Mobile plans will include Netflix for free starting on September 12
Last week, T-Mobile teased that it would be hosting an Un-Carrier Next event to introduce the latest addition to its popular Un-Carrier movement. That event took place today in the form of a livestream where T-Mobile revealed that it’s now including Netflix for free with certain T-Mobile One plans.
