An interesting thread appeared on Reddit this morning from a supposed Foxconn insider who apparently has knowledge about various Apple products in the pipeline as they have seen prototypes pass through the factory. Axios reports that Apple Music executive Bozoma Saint John plans to leave her role at the company. Saint John has served as the Head of Global Consumer Marketing for Apple Music since the company’s Beats Music acquisition in 2014.
Google Hangouts adds iOS CallKit to make & receive calls from Apple’s built-in phone app
Google has updated its Hangouts messaging and voice calling app with support for Apple’s CallKit, the iOS 10 feature that enables VoIP services to use the iPhone’s built-in dialer and phone app to both make and receive calls.
Once the new feature is enabled within Hangouts, users can initiate phone calls using the iPhone’s built-in Phone app or with Siri voice commands, and also receive incoming calls form Hangouts using the stock iOS call UI.
Report: Apple plans to add new supported app categories for Siri at WWDC
A new report from Reuters today offers some information on planned Siri updates for iOS 11, part of an expansion expected to come alongside a much anticipated standalone Siri device during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) next week. The move, according to the report, will see Apple expand the categories for third-party apps that can integrate with Siri in order to help it compete with Amazon’s Alexa.
