Intel’s new X-Series processor family boasts a $1,999 18-core CPU
Intel today has announced its new family of Intel Core processors. Titled as Intel Core X-Series, these high-end desktop processors are the next step in Intel’s processor family. Ranging from $242 – $1,999, the X-Series looks to cover the gamut of next generation desktop processing power.
Most notable from today’s event is Intel’s X-Series i9-7908XE which boasts 18-cores and 36-threads.
Pixelmator team teases new Mac app ‘Graphique’ coming soon
The team that make Pixelmator, a photo image editing app for Mac and iOS, are today teasing a whole new project on its way soon. Pixelmator was most recently featured by Apple at its last product event as an example of Touch Bar integration from third party developers.
Although details are scarce, the teaser image appears to reveal the name of the app as ‘Graphique’. The team describes the upcoming app as the ‘most Mac thing’ they have ever done and has apparently been in development for five years.

Listening to some of the Apple Pay stats put forward by the company, you might get the impression that the payment method is taking the market by storm. In Apple’s Q1 2017 earnings call, Tim Cook told us that the number of Apple Pay users tripled year-on-year, and that transaction volumes increased by 500%.
In Q2, we finally got some actual numbers, at least for the US: a total of 4.5M transactions to date.
But while these are big numbers, they are still a drop in the ocean given that total card transactions are numbered in the tens of billions each year. Viewed in this light, Apple Pay accounts for a fraction of a percent of all card purchases.

15-inch MacBook Pro delivery times slip until after WWDC, hardware updates expected
The Apple Online Store is now out of stock of current 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar configurations, with estimated delivery quoted as June 5 – June 7. Amazon is also reporting constrained stock availability of the 15-inch models.
