Mafia 3’s open-world organized crime comes to Mac today

Just over 6 months ago, 2K released the third entry in the long running Mafia franchise for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game was praised for its treatment of the racially charged 1960’s era it was set in along with its interesting take on organized crime gameplay mechanics. In the meantime, players are now able to try out a lengthy free demo of the game on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in order to get a taste of New Bordeaux, 2K’s open-world take on New Orleans. Report: Amazon Prime Video coming to Apple TV at WWDC, Amazon to resume Apple TV sales

Last week Recode reported that Amazon and Apple were actively discussing plans to bring Prime Video to Apple TV later this year, and now Buzzfeed is reporting that yes, really, it’s happening and the deal is now official. Amazon Prime Video for Apple TV is expected to be introduced on stage at WWDC next month and launch later this summer, according to the report.

Osmo announces its latest iPad mixed reality game for kids, combining coding principles with music

Integrating real-world objects into a fun iPad game is Osmo’s brand; we reviewed the company’s drawing game, Osmo Monster, last year. Today, Osmo has announced the latest addition to its collection, Coding Jam. The game has kids placing physical tiles in front of the iPad display to create musical sequences and melodies.

The game introduces children to abstract coding concepts like loops and subroutines, through the motions of creating complicated snippets of music. For example, users can place a looping tile onto the table with a ‘2’ to have the enclosed sequence of sounds repeat two times.

If you find yourself hanging out for a while at a scenic spot, creating a timelapse video can be a great way to share the experience with friends.

The iPhone, of course, has a built-in timelapse feature – and a very clever one it is too. So if you want to use your iPhone or iPad to shoot, you’re good to go. But if you want to use another camera, Final Cut Pro X makes it a really simple process to create a timelapse video, regardless of whether you’re working from video footage or still photos.

I had been holding out on this one hoping for better weather for the demo video, but as the weather gods aren’t cooperating, we’ll go with what I’ve got …
