Yesterday, we rounded up everything we currently know about Apple’s planned iPad updates for this year. We noted of a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, refreshed 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, and perhaps a refreshed, affordable 9.7-inch model, as well.

One story that’s been making the rounds in the media recently has been Apple’s role in education as it faces increased competition from products like Chromebooks.
Earlier this month, we reported on new data that claimed both iOS and macOS again were losing marketshare to Chromebooks. In the US, Chrome OS saw its share rise to 58 percent in 2016, up from 50% in the prior year. On the other hand, iOS dropped to 14%, down from 19% in 2015, and macOS dropped to 5% share, down from 6%.

Tim Cook talks benefits of globalization & user privacy during speech in China
Following the announcement that Apple will be building two more research and development centers in China, CEO Tim Cook gave a speech at the China Development Forum. This year marked Cook’s first appearance at the event, which is sponsored by China’s central government.
In the hourlong speech, Cook touched on a variety of topics, including globalization and user privacy.

Hands-on: Philips Hue Go – dynamic lighting anywhere you please [Video]
After going hands-on with the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus, I was eager to try out other products in the Hue lineup. The Philips Hue Go seemed particularly intriguing thanks to its battery-powered portability.
The Go is an ~$80 portable light, the size of a small cantaloupe that’s been sliced in half. The unit can be stay on for 3 hours thanks to its built-in rechargeable battery, but can also be powered via a wall outlet.
Although the Hue Go comes bundled with 7 lighting presets, it really shines when combined with the Philips Hue Bridge. The Bridge isn’t a requirement to use the Go, but it does allow you to tap into the full potential of the product.
