Report: iPhone 8 to feature Lumentum-sourced 3D sensor, launch above $1,000 this fall despite early production rumors
A new report from Fast Company highlights a few interesting details about this year’s anticipated iPhone release. According to their sources, the price tag for the iPhone 8 could exceed $1,000 which is higher than any option in the current lineup. The report also echoes rumors that the new hardware will feature 3D sensor technology while downplaying talk that the new models could launch earlier this year than expected.

Tim Cook receives honorary degree from University of Glasgow, denounces Trump immigration order
Apple CEO Tim Cook today received an honorary degree from the University of Glasgow, in the UK. The ceremony (video below) was then followed by a brief interview where Cook described the institution as ‘one of the finest universities in the world’. He also condemned the Donald Trump immigration order, saying that ‘if we stand and say nothing, we become a part of it’.

EPIX network comes to Apple TV today for subscribers (w/ an exclusive free trial)
TV network EPIX is arriving for fourth-generation Apple TV users today with a new app on the App Store, but it will only be available to those already subscribed to the service through cable providers, the company announced. EPIX is, however, offering a free trial for non-subscribers exclusively through the new Apple TV app, meaning all will get to at least try the service starting today before having to subscribe later after the trial ends.

Ford unveils all-new 2018 Expedition as latest vehicle with Apple’s CarPlay, wireless charging pad & Wi-Fi hotspot
The latest vehicles to include Apple’s CarPlay platform built-in are being announced this week at or alongside the Chicago Auto Show. Dodge’s new 2018 Durango and Subaru’s 2018 Legacy are followed by an announcement from Ford unveiling the all-new Expedition that like its predecessor will come equipped with a CarPlay-enabled in-dash system.
