Finishing touches and trees being added to Apple’s Campus 2 as heavier work largely completed [Video]
We noted earlier this month that Apple’s Campus 2 was starting to look less like a construction site, and the latest 4K drone footage from Matthew Roberts shows trees being planted and the finishing touches being added in some places as much of the heavier work has been completed.
Work continues on the canopies designed to shield the windows from the sun, with cosmetic work being done to those already in place as others are still being added. Some of the last remaining cranes on site are also still at work on the rooftop solar installation, which is now around 70% complete …

Trump’s next anti-immigration move could target tech workers hired by Apple & others – Bloomberg
Just two days after Tim Cook expressed his opposition to executive orders signed by President Trump to limit immigration, Bloomberg suggests that Trump’s next move could be to target foreign workers employed by Apple and other tech companies.
His administration has drafted an executive order aimed at overhauling the work-visa programs technology companies depend on to hire tens of thousands of employees each year.
If implemented, the reforms could force wholesale changes at India companies such as Infosys and Wipro, and shift the way American companies like Microsoft , Amazon and Apple recruit talent …

iPhone 7 Plus sales suggest Apple likely to continue feature differentiation between smaller & larger models
Apple’s decision to limit the dual-camera setup in the iPhone 7 Plus to the larger model may have been driven by space constraints, but the move has apparently also been good for Apple’s bottom-line.
Cowen & Co sales estimates cited by the WSJ suggest that iPhone 7 Plus sales accounted for a massive 40% of all iPhone 7 sales. By way of comparison, the firm estimates that just 17% of iPhone 6 buyers opted for the larger, more expensive model.
That difference filters through into increased income for Apple …

Would you pay for a web TV streaming service from Apple? If so, how much? [Poll]
Apple has long been rumored to be developing a web TV streaming service. Recent reports, however, have claimed that the company has abandoned the idea due to difficulties negotiating with networks.
With AT&T having recently launched DirecTV Now and Hulu’s upcoming streaming service, the idea of a streaming service from Apple is something that doesn’t seem too wild.

Apple reportedly removing apps from Iranian developers & startups from the iOS App Store
Apple has allegedly started removing apps originating in Iran from the App Store. According to Techrasa, Apple removed the app of Digikala, the biggest Iranian e-commerce service, a few days ago. Apple has yet to comment on the procedure but it seems to stem from international trade laws (via TechCrunch).

In memo to employees, Tim Cook says Trump’s immigration order is ‘not a policy we support’
Joining a variety of tech leaders in doing so, Tim Cook today told Apple employees in a memo that the company does not support the executive orders signed by President Donald Trump to limit immigration from foreign countries to the United States. In the memo, obtained by The Verge, Cook explains that the order simply is “not a policy we support.”

Adobe announces plans to shutter Contribute, Director, and Shockwave starting next month
Adobe today announced that, in an effort to continue to push people towards Creative Cloud, it is discontinuing Adobe Director and Contribute, as well as Shockwave on Mac. The move, which shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise to most, officially marks the end of Macromedia software, the company Adobe acquired in 2005 and subsequently dissolved.
