PSA: Now is your last chance to download your Vine videos, or turn them into GIFs

The Vine video service officially closes today, so if you have any Vine videos online that aren’t safely stored in your camera roll, you only have a few hours to save them.

The Vine app allows you to download your stored videos (Profile page → Save Videos), which you can do either directly to your phone or get a download link which also preserves the Like and Re-vine data. AirPods’ reported 26% market share more like 2-3%, says NPD

Slice Intelligence made headlines when it suggested that Apple’s AirPods captured a 26% share of the wireless headphone market within a short time of going on sale. Together with a Beats share of around 15%, that put Apple at a combined total of 40%.

Today, however, NPD says those numbers paint a misleading picture, and the true market share captured by AirPods is more like 2% by volume and 3% by value. There is, it says, a simple explanation for the huge apparent discrepancy …

App Store app prices to rise in the UK by >25% following Brexit exchange rate fluctuations

Apple is rising the prices for apps and in-app purchases in a few countries following changes to exchange rates and taxation policy, with customers in India, Turkey and the United Kingdom to see price increases.

In the United Kingdom, one of Apple’s largest markets, app prices are rising up more than 25% following the weak pound exchange rate after the Brexit vote. An app sold for $0.99 in the US will now cost £0.99 in the UK, up from £0.79.

Poll: What Apple product category should the company refresh next?

In terms of major product refreshes, 2016 was rather light in the grand scheme of things. The MacBook Pro saw its first major refresh towards the end of the year, and 2017 will likely see the same treatment towards the rest of the Mac lineup, the iPhone the iPad, and maybe more.

KGI: Apple planning Kaby Lake processor updates for MacBook & MacBook Pros this year, 32GB RAM option for 15-inch

Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities is out today with a new investor note, offering up some more information about what’s in store for the Mac lineup in 2017. Kuo claims that all MacBook models will be upgraded in 2017 with Intel’s latest Kaby Lake chipset, while there will also be a new 32GB RAM option for the 15-inch model.

As our devices continually improve at capturing rich content like 4K video and bursts of high quality photos in a few seconds, and applications become increasingly powerful (and larger), our Macs often fill up faster than we expect.

macOS 10.12.3 beta includes new Display Brightness energy saving recommendation for extending battery life

Apple appears to be further optimizing macOS Sierra for battery performance after controversy over MacBook Pro battery life issues. macOS 10.12.3 beta 4 includes a new Display Brightness item under the Battery status indicator on the menu bar when checking which apps and features are using significant energy.
