Ecobee3 remote sensors now work as HomeKit motion detectors & room temperature monitors
I’ve tested a lot of HomeKit thermostats and Ecobee3 remains my top pick. It’s a Wi-Fi smart thermostat with remote sensors that detect both presence and temperature in individual rooms, and the latest firmware update to Ecobee3 officially adds HomeKit support to these sensors. Here’s how it works:

Opinion: Does Apple need to make an Amazon Echo/Google Home speaker, or just make Siri better?
There has been speculation that Apple may be planning to build its own home speaker device to compete with the Amazon Echo and Google Home, with some expressing the view that Apple is already late to the party.

Today, we can finally show you Opera Neon. It is a concept browser – an experimental browser that envisions the future of web browsers similar to the way concept cars predict the future of automobiles.
The approach looks radically different to a conventional browser, starting as a semi-transparent overlay of your speed-dial sites floating above your Mac desktop. Opera Neon also takes a kind of virtual reality approach to tabs …

Impractical concept imagines a next-generation Mac Pro with interchangeable components
A German visual designer has come up with a concept for a next-generation Mac Pro that sees the trashcan design extended into a larger oval shape, sitting somewhere between the original and new Mac Pro in size.
Those arguing that Apple needs to offer both older and newer ports would have no complaints at this machine, which combines four USB 3 ports and the same number of Thunderbolt 2 ones with no fewer than 16 USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports …

Apple on track to hit $1 trillion in total revenue from iOS by the middle of this year
Last year, some analysts made the unlikely claim that Alphabet or Amazon might beat Apple to be the first trillion-dollar company. Asymco’s Horace Dediu, however, is out today with a new report predicting that Apple will cross the $1 trillion mark this year in terms of revenue generated by iOS, pushing it closer to a $1 trillion market cap.
