It’s no secret that Apple has a growing interest in the heath industry as it continues to expand heath tracking capabilities with the iPhone and Apple Watch. Now, a report from CNBC claims that Apple is looking to turn the iPhone into “one-stop shop” for all medical record information.

There’s a lot to love in Apple’s new iPad Pro lineup; faster chips, 120hz ProMotion display and slimmer side bezels on the 10.5-inch model. They also debut some really pretty new wallpapers … or at least the packaging the iPads come in do. Each iPad Pro box features a picture of the tablet showing a wallpaper; a different one for Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold models.
Unfortunately, these really nice looking wallpapers aren’t included in the iPad Pro software so you can’t actually officially use them. We’ve managed to source all four of them and have links below if you want to download the background to match the packaging …
Angry Birds Evolution turn-based RPG combat game for adults now available [Video]
After a soft launch previously, Angry Birds Evolution, a new turn-based RPG combat game from Rovio, is officially launching in the U.S. and globally today.
The game is the latest in the popular Angry Birds franchise and, in addition to introducing a new type of gameplay for the birds, is the first title for the game made specifically for adults. As Rovio notes, that means “naughty humor, pop culture references galore and classic turn-based RPG combat.”
As Facebook snatches Siri language chief, Apple hires YouTube alum for social & video efforts
A pair of notable shuffles were made over last month when it comes to talent within Apple. Bloomberg reports that Apple has hired a former YouTube employee for social and video efforts, while VentureBeat reports that Facebook has snatched up a Siri language chief from Apple.

As we move closer to the unveiling of the next generation iPhones, more manufacturers are talking about device details. This time CEO Robert Hwang of Wistron, Apple’s primary iPhone manufacturer in India, has confirmed that the upcoming iPhone will be waterproof and feature wireless charging (Nikkei).
A stroll through Apple Park reveals green landscape progressing [Gallery]
Apple Park is starting to look a lot more like a park as Apple makes rapid progress on the massive landscaping job and continues construction at the site. The images above and below give a good ground level look at the thousands of trees being planted around the main circular building on the 175-acre campus. These photos sent in by a 9to5Mac reader show how the site looked as of late last week.
While Apple announced back in February that Apple Park would be ready for employees to begin moving in by April, the site still appears to be more in construction mode and it’s unclear what Apple staff if any is actually already working at the new campus. The company is also expected to host future events at the 1000-seat Steve Jobs Theatre located at Apple Park, but chatter from construction workers is that finishing touches could go beyond the end of the year and the new iPhone unveiling expected to be Apple’s next event in September.

Apple supplier Largan confirms it is shipping 3D-sensing lenses later this year, likely destined for iPhone 8
A well-known Apple supplier, Largan Precision, has announced that it is shipping 3D depth-sensing lenses in the second half of 2017 (via Nikkei). Although it didn’t identify brands by name, industry experts believe that these camera components are for the iPhone 8.
The special sensors will enable face recognition functionality, allowing users of the high-end iPhone to unlock their device just by looking at the screen. Largan already supplies most of the rear camera lenses used in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Opinion: In-app ‘tipping’ controversy in China highlights gap in Apple’s cultural understanding overseas
Apple has now implemented a controversial change to the way it handles cash ‘tips’ sent to content providers through social media apps in China. It is treating them as in-app purchases, and taking a 30% cut.
Apple’s point of view makes perfect sense in the USA. It argues that a donation from a user to a content creator is no different to an in-app purchase. Indeed, in the original news piece, many commenters took issue with the use of the word ‘donation,’ saying that this is suggestive of a contribution to a charitable cause rather than to an individual.
But it is this which highlights the cultural gulf between the two countries …
