Apple shares new trailer for Apple Music exclusive documentary ‘808’, releasing Dec. 9th

Ahead of the Apple Music exclusive stream of the documentary ‘808’ set for Dec. 9, Apple has tweeted a new trailer for the film that focuses on Roland’s iconic TR-808 drum machine. ‘808’ was originally shown at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival and is just shy of 7/10 stars on IMDb as of this writing. Atlantic Records is offering the soundtrack album now and looks to be selling apparel in the near future. The tracklist includes a wide variety of genres and artists ranging from Hip Hop Be Bop (Don’t Stop) by Man Parrish, Paul Revere by the Beastie Boys, to Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz. This documentary effort by Apple is of course in line with their work to blend the liberal arts and technology, and also seems to be on message with respecting and celebrating the past, such as their new hardbound book covering 20 years of Apple’s design history. For those interested in music history there is a video from the YouTube channel RetroSound dedicated to the famous drum beats made possible with the Roland TR-808. They even include captions detailing what songs the beats come from. Decades of music defined by one little machine.Check out the new trailer for @808TheMovie.Available 12/9 on #AppleMusic.cc: @zanelowe http://pic.twitter.com/2yf7nNV0LF — Apple Music (@AppleMusic) November 30, 2016 As we previously covered, you can watch the documentary with an Apple Music subscription next Friday and it will also be available to rent or buy from iTunes on December 19. The soundtrack is available now on Apple Music and iTunes. Filed under:...

Apple has now acknowledged the issue in a statement to iMore with an apology for the issue to affected users. The company says it is actively “identifying and blocking suspicious senders” to counter the spam activity. more… Filed under:...
